Captured on film are pictures of hog sewage being "removed" from the confinement. In middle May 2008 Darvin and Tish Bentlage sent photos to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for an explanation as to why this run-off is allowed to contaminate the water supply on one of their farm locations. The DNR told them that they would investigate.

Seventh seed Tigran Martirosyan of Armenia, pictured at right, defeated Jean-Yves Aubone of the USA in the annual SA F18 Futures tournament held at the Millennium Tennis and Fitness Center in Joplin. The scores for the three set match that took place on July 20, 2008, were 6-3, 5-7, 6-0.
Aubone, a junior from Florida State, served his way out of trouble a couple of times and was able to take advantage of the weaknesses of Martirosyan's two-handed backhand and his opponent's lapse in serving, enabling him to win the second set and even up the match. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN? Joplin Police are seeking Johnny White, age 40, for questioning regarding the shooting of another man.
Joplin Police responded to a shots fired call at 904 Connecticut at 8:30 p.m. on July 2, 2008. Upon arrival they found 26-year-old Damyon Fisher with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. Fisher was transported by ambulance to a local hospital were he is currently in critical, but stable condition.
