Construction affecting I-44
May 30, 2015
Interstate 44 traffic at mile marker 67 in Greene County west of Springfield is being impacted. Contractor crews are tearing down the old Route N/T bridge which crosses the highway and will replace it with a new wider and taller structure. Route N/T will be closed at I-44 until the new bridge is completed sometime in mid-August. However, the ramps at the interchange will remain open until July when it will be necessary to close them one side at a time for up to 30 days. During the ramp closing drivers will need to use the signed detour (I-44 exit Hwy. B to the north or Hwy. MM to the south). Planning your own alternate route to your destination in advance is advised. APAC-Missouri of Columbia is the prime contractor; the total project cost is $2.1 million.
