A large section of the tower had snapped off during wind gusts that reportedly were clocked at over 85 miles per hour during the storm that hit Joplin on May 8, 2009. Damaged, according to the station's own report, were the building housing KSN and a nearby home and carport containing an SUV. KSN-TV is located at 1502 S. Cleveland in Joplin.
