| The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Criminal Records and Identification Division is sponsoring a Criminal History Background Check Symposium for civil purposes September 9 in Springfield and September 16, 2008 in Cape Girardeau.
The symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Holiday Inn North, 2720 N. Glenstone Ave., will provide information on the criminal history background check process. It will educate and assist non-criminal justice users in the process involved in obtaining criminal history background checks in Missouri and nationally through the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A new program called MoVECHS (Missouri Volunteer & Employee Criminal History Service) will be discussed.
The event is being offered in response to the growing interest in obtaining criminal history record information on individuals applying for positions of trust with children, elderly or persons with disabilities. It will help employers make sound employment decisions for potential child care providers, health care workers, governmental, school, and retail employees, as well as general employment.
Cost of the program is $20. Participants are encouraged to register by August 29, 2008. For a registration form go here. Go Back |
