Free dental work is offered
April 15, 2015
Note: This event has been canceled. It will be rescheduled some time in September.

The second annual Dentistry from the Heart (DFTH) event hosted by Trent Wilkinson, DDS, pictured, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 30, 2015, at his office at Suite A, 1902 E. Battlefield Rd., Springfield. Registered as a non-profit national organization Denistry from the Heart provides free dental work on a first come first serve basis for people 18 years of age and older from any local area who can't afford to have certain dental work done.

Wilkinson and a team of dentists together with several volunteers and sponsors will provide patients with a free extraction, filling or cleaning. Last year Wilkinson was the only dentist in Missouri to participate in the program. He contributed dental care valued at $30,000. In 2015 his generosity still remains uncontested in Missouri.

In 2001, Dentistry from the Heart started with New Port Richey dentist Dr. Vincent Monticciolo as a way to giving back to the community and provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Since its inception, Dentistry from the Heart has grown to include over 200 annual events nationwide and provided more than 45,000 people with free dental care services.
