| Miss Grand Lake is crowed Miss America 2006 | mariwinn | | Updated: 2006-01-31 12:30:49 |  | | | Jennifer Berry, 22, a student at the University of Oklahoma is crowned Miss America 2006 by Deidre Downs, the 2005 reigning queen, at the Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, January 21. Prior to becoming Miss Oklahoma, she held the title of Miss Grand Lake. Berry graduated high school in Jenks, a growing young community located southwest of Tulsa on the Arkansas River. Besides an opportunity to travel, she was awarded a $30,000 scholarship to continue her education. She was pursuing a career in teaching on the elementary level. |
