The Corporation reply2005-06-26 10:10:38mambo

Phil, I have seen The Corporation as well. It should be mandatory viewing for all citizens. It was eye-opening and related directly to a number of local issues. Are you familiar with the Moark/Land O'Lakes expansion plans in Neosho? This 6 billion dollar a year corporate partnership is in the process of externalizing the environmental degradation, which has and will affect the citizens of the four state area, done by these types of factory farms. The Corporation will in turn reap the profits from producing eggs ever cheaper with fewer employees. This is due to a contract with WalMart. The only reason the eggs are being projected to be produced in Neosho,MO is because WalMart cannot import them cheap enough from China yet. The movie seems to hit the nail on the head when it announces that corporations have no emotions, only the drive for profits. Not all corporations operate in that mode thankfully. But sadly many do.

Greetings I'm a Joplin resident and was pleasantly surprised when I found out about this site a few days ago. This is my first post. I watched a cool documentary recently called, The Corporation. I thought it was very informative and thought- provoking. It features interviews with Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Milton Friedman, Naomi Klein, and many, many others. Has anyone seen it and care to comment?
